⚖️ Overview of Blackbird Extension Licenses

When you purchase a Blackbird extension, you are granted a license to use the software according to specific terms and conditions. This document provides a summary of these terms, but for the complete and legally binding license agreement, please refer to our official license agreement.

License Duration & Validity

Our license permits use of the extension on a single Magento installation. This license is tied to one Magento instance rather than a specific domain.

This means:

  • If you operate multiple domains (multi-site) within the same Magento instance, a single license covers all those domains.

  • However, if you run separate Magento instances for different sites, each instance requires its own license.

  • If your server setup uses multiple Magento frontend servers (e.g., in a load-balanced or clustered environment) but they all serve the same Magento instance, a single license is sufficient to cover them.

  • The purchased extension version must match your Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce version to be valid (Open Source, Commerce on Prem, Commerce on Cloud).

That said, you may install the extension on additional Magento instances used strictly for development, testing, or staging purposes, provided these environments are not publicly accessible.

What's Included in Your License

Your Blackbird extension license includes:

  1. Software Access: The right to download and install the extension

  2. Updates: Access to all updates released during your license period

  3. Technical Support: Assistance with installation and usage

  4. Documentation: Access to user guides and documentation

Restrictions

The license explicitly prohibits:

  • Redistributing or reselling the extension

  • Modifying the extension's code for redistribution

  • Removing copyright or attribution notices

  • Transferring the license to another party without permission

  • Using a single license on multiple unrelated sites

License Verification

Some extensions may include license verification mechanisms that:

  • Periodically verify the validity of your license

  • May limit functionality if the license is invalid or expired

  • Connect to our license servers for verification

Open Source Components

Blackbird extensions may include open-source components that are subject to their respective licenses. Information about these components and their licenses is available in the extension documentation.

License Termination

Your license may be terminated if you:

  • Violate any terms of the license agreement

  • Request a refund (if eligible)

  • Initiate a chargeback for your purchase

Upon termination, you must cease using the extension and delete all copies.
